(a) A tribunal of this state shall apply Alaska Stat. § 25.25.101 – 25.25.616 and, as applicable, AS 25.25.702 – 25.25.714, to a support proceeding involving

state: means the State of Alaska unless applied to the different parts of the United States and in the latter case it includes the District of Columbia and the territories. See Alaska Statutes 01.10.060
(1) a foreign support order;(2) a foreign tribunal; or(3) an obligee, obligor, or child residing in a foreign country.(b) A tribunal of this state that is requested to recognize and enforce a support order on the basis of comity may apply the procedural and substantive provisions of Alaska Stat. § 25.25.101 – 25.25.616.(c)AS 25.25.702 – 25.25.714 apply only to a support proceeding under the convention. In such a proceeding, if a provision of AS 25.25.702 – 25.25.714 is inconsistent with Alaska Stat. § 25.25.101 – 25.25.616, AS 25.25.702 – 25.25.714 controls.
