A. Except for adoptions pursuant to Title 8, Chapter 1 and guardianships pursuant to Title 14, Chapter 5, a person shall not sell or offer to sell a child for money or other valuable consideration and shall not purchase or offer to purchase a child in exchange for money or other valuable consideration.

- Person: means a human being and, as the context requires, an enterprise, a public or private corporation, an unincorporated association, a partnership, a firm, a society, a government, a governmental authority or an individual or entity capable of holding a legal or beneficial interest in property. B. A person who violates this section is guilty of a class 5 felony.
