Terms Used In Indiana Code > Title 20 > Article 19 > Chapter 9 - School Corporation Virtual Education Programs

  • Contract: A legal written agreement that becomes binding when signed.
  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
  • Dependent: A person dependent for support upon another.
  • Oversight: Committee review of the activities of a Federal agency or program.
  • Settlement: Parties to a lawsuit resolve their difference without having a trial. Settlements often involve the payment of compensation by one party in satisfaction of the other party's claims.
  • virtual education program: means a program provided by a school corporation in which more than fifty percent (50%) of instruction, other than instruction for recovery credit courses, to students participating in the program is provided in an interactive learning environment created through technology in which the student is separated from a teacher by time or space, or both.
