As used in this chapter, unless the context otherwise requires:
 1. “Crop” includes but is not limited to corn, soybeans, hay, straw, and crops produced on trees, vines, or bushes.

Terms Used In Iowa Code 571.1A

  • Crop: includes but is not limited to corn, soybeans, hay, straw, and crops produced on trees, vines, or bushes. See Iowa Code 571.1A
  • Harvester: means a person who performs harvesting services. See Iowa Code 571.1A
  • Harvesting services: means baling, chopping, combining, cutting, husking, picking, shelling, stacking, threshing, or windrowing a crop, regardless of the means or method employed. See Iowa Code 571.1A
  • person: means individual, corporation, limited liability company, government or governmental subdivision or agency, business trust, estate, trust, partnership or association, or any other legal entity. See Iowa Code 4.1
 2. “Harvester” means a person who performs harvesting services.
 3. “Harvesting services” means baling, chopping, combining, cutting, husking, picking, shelling, stacking, threshing, or windrowing a crop, regardless of the means or method employed.
 4. “Harvester’s lien” or “lien” means the harvester‘s lien created in section 571.1B.
