The Attorney General or any district attorney may bring an action in any court of competent jurisdiction in the name of the State of Nevada on his or her own complaint or on the complaint of any board, officer, person, corporation or association to enjoin any violation or proposed violation of the provisions of NRS 207.170 to 207.177, inclusive.

Terms Used In Nevada Revised Statutes 207.176

  • Complaint: A written statement by the plaintiff stating the wrongs allegedly committed by the defendant.
  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
  • person: means a natural person, any form of business or social organization and any other nongovernmental legal entity including, but not limited to, a corporation, partnership, association, trust or unincorporated organization. See Nevada Revised Statutes 0.039
