Terms Used In North Carolina General Statutes 75-2

  • Common law: The legal system that originated in England and is now in use in the United States. It is based on judicial decisions rather than legislative action.
  • Contract: A legal written agreement that becomes binding when signed.

Any act, contract, combination in the form of trust, or conspiracy in restraint of trade or commerce which violates the principles of the common law is hereby declared to be in violation of N.C. Gen. Stat. § 75-1 (1913, c. 41, s. 2; C.S., s. 2560.)
