A person who has been damaged by reason of violation of this chapter may bring an action in the district court against the person causing the damage to recover an amount equal to three times all actual and consequential damages and court costs and reasonable attorney fees.

Terms Used In North Dakota Code 12.1-21.1-05

  • action: means a bodily movement, whether voluntary or involuntary. See North Dakota Code 12.1-01-04
  • Court: means any of the following courts: the supreme court, a district court, and where relevant, a municipal court. See North Dakota Code 12.1-01-04
  • Damages: Money paid by defendants to successful plaintiffs in civil cases to compensate the plaintiffs for their injuries.
  • person: includes , where relevant, a corporation, limited liability company, partnership, unincorporated association, or other legal entity. See North Dakota Code 12.1-01-04

This chapter does not affect any other rights of a person who has been damaged by reason of violation of this chapter.
