(1) Reimbursement from the Community College Support Fund established in ORS § 341.620 may be made available to community colleges that deliver educational services to adults in custody confined to the state-operated correctional facilities and to locally operated correctional facilities. The reimbursement shall be distributed as directed in ORS § 341.626 and the rules of the Higher Education Coordinating Commission.

  • community college: means a public institution operated by a community college district for the purposes of providing courses of study limited to not more than two years' full-time attendance and designed to meet the needs of a geographical area by providing educational services, including but not limited to career and technical education programs or lower division collegiate programs. See Oregon Statutes 341.005

(2) The commission shall review and approve services to correctional institutions at least once biennially.

(3) The enrollment limitation, as provided by ORS § 341.022, does not apply to persons receiving services under this section.

(4) Reimbursement from the Community College Support Fund established in ORS § 341.620 may not be made available to community colleges for delivering educational services to adults in custody confined in federal prisons. Neither shall local property taxes be used to support the services. A host community college shall support the services through a contractual arrangement with the federal government.
