(1) A community college may give credit for courses or programs taken in a career school. The courses or programs for which credit may be given must meet the standards adopted by the Higher Education Coordinating Commission under ORS § 345.325, must be taken at a career school domiciled in this state and must be approved for credit by the Director of the Office of Community Colleges and Workforce Development.

Terms Used In Oregon Statutes 341.455

  • Board: means the board of education of a community college district. See Oregon Statutes 341.005
  • community college: means a public institution operated by a community college district for the purposes of providing courses of study limited to not more than two years' full-time attendance and designed to meet the needs of a geographical area by providing educational services, including but not limited to career and technical education programs or lower division collegiate programs. See Oregon Statutes 341.005
  • Director: means the Director of the Office of Community Colleges and Workforce Development appointed under ORS § 350. See Oregon Statutes 341.005

(2) A community college board may charge a transcripting fee to a student for courses taken at a career school and accepted by the community college under subsection (1) of this section. Such a fee is to be set by the board and is to be consistent with other student fees.
