Terms Used In South Carolina Code 6-21-240

  • governing body: as used in this chapter shall be construed to mean, in the case of a county, the board of county commissioners or other like governing body thereof, in the case of a city or incorporated town, the board of commissioners, the mayor and council or other like governing body thereof and, in the case of a township, the board of county commissioners or other governing body of the county in which the township is located.   • system: as used in this chapter shall include all of the projects and undertakings referred to in § 6-21-50. See South Carolina Code 6-21-40
Any city combining its airport with any harbor improvement plan into a single system as provided in § 6-21-40 may secure such bonds as may be issued therefor by pledges of the revenues from such combined system, and it may additionally secure such bonds by pledges of any of the revenues that might from time to time become receivable by said city from any other source or sources except the proceeds of ad valorem taxes. Bonds issued pursuant to this chapter for such purposes may, in the discretion of the governing body of said city, be primarily secured by a pledge of the revenues from such system as provided by § 6-21-440.
