For purposes of enforcing this part, the commissioner:

(1) May investigate any offense under this part;

Terms Used In Tennessee Code 39-14-805

  • Commissioner: means the commissioner of agriculture. See Tennessee Code 39-14-802
  • Government: means the state or any political subdivision of the state, and includes any branch or agency of the state, a county, municipality or other political subdivision. See Tennessee Code 39-11-106
  • State: means the state of Tennessee. See Tennessee Code 39-14-802
  • United States: includes the District of Columbia and the several territories of the United States. See Tennessee Code 1-3-105
(2) May seek the assistance of any law enforcement agency of the United States, the state, or any local government in the conduct of the investigations; and
(3) Shall coordinate the investigation to the maximum extent practicable, with the investigations of any law enforcement agency of the United States, the state, or any local government.
