Terms Used In Texas Local Government Code 43.082
- Municipality: means a general-law municipality, home-rule municipality, or special-law municipality. See Texas Local Government Code 1.005
- Population: means the population shown by the most recent federal decennial census. See Texas Government Code 311.005
A municipality with a population of less than 30,000, that is in a county that borders the Gulf of Mexico and that is adjacent to a county with a population of one million or more, and that seeks to annex land owned by a navigation district operating under § 59, Article XVI, Texas Constitution, must have the consent of the district to annex the land.
