Terms Used In Texas Special District Local Laws Code 1117.053
- Person: includes corporation, organization, government or governmental subdivision or agency, business trust, estate, trust, partnership, association, and any other legal entity. See Texas Government Code 311.005
- Property: means real and personal property. See Texas Government Code 311.005
A person may not be elected or appointed as a director unless the person:
(1) is a resident of the district;
(2) owns property in the district subject to taxation; and
(3) is at least 18 years of age at the time of election or appointment.
