(a) If a person holds a driver’s license, commercial driver’s license, or commercial learner’s permit issued by another state and is finally convicted of a violation of a state traffic law or local traffic ordinance that was committed in a commercial motor vehicle, the department shall notify the driver’s licensing authority in the issuing state of that conviction, in the time and manner required by 49 U.S.C. § 31311.
(b) This section does not apply to a parking violation.
