- Transcript: A written, word-for-word record of what was said, either in a proceeding such as a trial or during some other conversation, as in a transcript of a hearing or oral deposition.
(a) |
The license, together with the certificate of the individual officiating at the marriage, shall be filed and preserved by the clerk, and shall be recorded by the clerk in a book kept for that purpose, or by electronic means. |
(b) |
The record shall be properly indexed in the names of the parties so married. |

(2) |
An individual may use a diacritical mark, as defined in Section 26B-8-103, on a marriage license. |
(3) |
A transcript shall be promptly certified and transmitted by the clerk to the state registrar of vital statistics. |
(4) |
The license and the certificate of the individual officiating at the marriage are vital records as defined in Section 26B-8-101 and are subject to the inspection requirements described in Section 26B-8-125. |
