76-6-705. Reporting violations.

Each person who has reason to believe that a provision of Section 76-6-703, 76-6-703.1, 76-6-703.3, 76-6-703.5, or 76-6-703.7 is being or has been violated shall report the suspected violation to:

Terms Used In Utah Code 76-6-705- Common law: The legal system that originated in England and is now in use in the United States. It is based on judicial decisions rather than legislative action.
- Person: means an individual, public or private corporation, government, partnership, or unincorporated association. See Utah Code 76-1-101.5
- State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes a state, district, or territory of the United States. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5

the attorney general, or county attorney, or, if within a prosecution district, the district attorney of the county or prosecution district in which part or all of the violation occurred; or |
| (b) |
a state or local law enforcement agency. |

Subsection (1) does not apply to the extent that the person is prohibited from reporting by a statutory or common law privilege. |
