- person: means individual, corporation, limited liability company, government or governmental subdivision or agency, business trust, estate, trust, partnership or association, or any other legal entity. See Iowa Code 4.1
- year: means twelve consecutive months. See Iowa Code 4.1
614.9 Exception in case of death.
If the person having a cause of action dies within one year next previous to the expiration of the limitation provided for, the limitation shall not apply until one year after the person’s death.
