The legislative body of a local agency may furnish police officers and deputy sheriffs assigned to solo motorcycle duty with the following safety equipment:

(a) Motorcycle boots and riding breeches.

Terms Used In California Government Code 50081.1

  • Legislative body: as used in this division , means board of supervisors in the case of a county or city and county, and city council or board of trustees in the case of a city, unless the context otherwise requires. See California Government Code 50002
  • Local agency: as used in this division means county, city, or city and county, unless the context otherwise requires. See California Government Code 50001

(b) Leather motorcycle jacket and leather gloves.

(c) Plastic safety helmet.

(d) Suitable eye protective glasses for day duty and suitable eye protective glasses for night duty.

Such equipment shall remain the property of the local agency and shall be returned upon request of the local agency.
