Missouri Laws 416.525 – Notice of service of process, form

Defendant: In a civil suit, the person complained against; in a criminal case, the person accused of the crime.
following: when used by way of reference to any section of the statutes, mean the section next preceding or next following that in which the reference is made, unless some other section is expressly designated in the reference. See Missouri Laws 1.020
State: when applied to any of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories, and the words "United States" includes such district and territories. See Missouri Laws 1.020

The notification provided for in section 416.520 shall be substantially in the following form, to wit:

To (here insert the name of each defendant and his residence, the last known place of abode as definitely as known): You will take notice that original process in suit against you, a copy of which is hereto attached, was duly served upon you at Jefferson City, Cole County, Missouri, by serving same on the Secretary of State of the State of Missouri, or his Chief Clerk.
