1.  Notwithstanding any other provision of law, and except as otherwise provided in subsection 2, any conviction for a traffic violation pursuant to chapters 484A to 484E, inclusive, of NRS is not a criminal conviction for the purpose of applying for employment, a professional license or any educational opportunity.

  • controlled substance: means a drug, immediate precursor or other substance which is listed in schedule I, II, III, IV or V for control by the State Board of Pharmacy pursuant to NRS 453. See Nevada Revised Statutes 0.031
  • Conviction: A judgement of guilt against a criminal defendant.
  • person: means a natural person, any form of business or social organization and any other nongovernmental legal entity including, but not limited to, a corporation, partnership, association, trust or unincorporated organization. See Nevada Revised Statutes 0.039

2.  The provisions of subsection 1 do not apply if a person is convicted of:

(a) Reckless driving in violation of NRS 484B.653;

(b) Vehicular manslaughter in violation of NRS 484B.657; or

(c) Driving, operating or being in actual physical control of a vehicle or a vessel under power or sail while under the influence of intoxicating liquor or a controlled substance in violation of NRS 484C.110, 484C.120 or 488.410, as applicable.
