Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 56:12-12
- person: includes corporations, companies, associations, societies, firms, partnerships and joint stock companies as well as individuals, unless restricted by the context to an individual as distinguished from a corporate entity or specifically restricted to one or some of the above enumerated synonyms and, when used to designate the owner of property which may be the subject of an offense, includes this State, the United States, any other State of the United States as defined infra and any foreign country or government lawfully owning or possessing property within this State. 12. The Office of the Attorney General, the Division of Consumer Affairs, the Division of Rate Counsel in, but not of, the Department of the Treasury, the Commissioner of Banking and Insurance, in regard to contracts of insurance provided for in subsection c. of section 1 of this act (C. 56:12-1), or any interested person may seek injunctive relief. The court may authorize reasonable attorney’s fees, not to exceed $2,500.00, and court costs in such a proceeding.
