(a) A person who wants to have the person’s name printed on the ballot as a candidate for director must file with the secretary of the board a petition requesting that the person’s name be printed on the ballot.
(b) The petition must be signed by at least 10 registered voters of the district.

- Person: includes corporation, organization, government or governmental subdivision or agency, business trust, estate, trust, partnership, association, and any other legal entity. See Texas Government Code 311.005
- Signed: includes any symbol executed or adopted by a person with present intention to authenticate a writing. See Texas Government Code 311.005
(c) The application must be filed at least 31 days before the date of the election.
