Terms Used In Texas Special District Local Laws Code 1111.053
- Person: includes corporation, organization, government or governmental subdivision or agency, business trust, estate, trust, partnership, association, and any other legal entity. See Texas Government Code 311.005
- Signed: includes any symbol executed or adopted by a person with present intention to authenticate a writing. See Texas Government Code 311.005
- Written: includes any representation of words, letters, symbols, or figures. See Texas Government Code 311.005
A person who wants to have the person’s name printed on the ballot as a candidate for manager must file a written request with the board secretary. The request must be:
(1) signed by at least 20 district voters; and
(2) filed by the deadline imposed by Section 144.005, Election Code.
